An online notary is a traditional notary who has applied for and received an online notary commission issued by the secretary of state, Virginia in this case, authorizing the performance of an online notarization for residents of any location worldwide when notarizing a document to be used in the US. An online notary may perform all the notarial acts of a traditional notary, just from the convenience of your home or office or any location as long as you have internet access and a device equipped with a microphone and camera.
